Me, Myself and I
Who is photographing your wedding?
My name is Jacqui. I am originally from the Isle of Bute in the West Coast of Scotland. From an early age I have always shown a creative artistic flair and moved to Edinburgh after leaving school to study Photography. As a student, I worked with local photographers which helped me discover my passion for Wedding Photography.
After college, I spend 3 years working on Celebrity and P&O Cruises, managing the photography department. I was in charge of all the weddings and portrait sessions onboard, as well as collecting stock photos of all the ports we stopped by at. I have been very fortunate as I have seen some amazing places including Antarctica, the Amazon Jungle and the Panama Canal. During this time I was capturing weddings on caribbean beaches and onboard the ship. I built up my experience, working with bride and grooms to get the best from their day. It was around here that I decided that weddings was my thing, I absolutely loved them and that this could be my next career move.
After leaving ships I set up Chic Photo in 2010. I started out photographing friends weddings and built up my reputation from there. No distance was too far for me to travel as I lived in London at the time and was travelling up to Scotland every weekend for another wedding. It would be 2013 before I took the leap, left my job and moved back up to Scotland permanently. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Since then Chic Photo has been thriving year on year and Im still absolutely loving what I do.
I have been working hard to deliver an excellent service, ensuring all my brides and grooms get the best photos and experience on their wedding day. I am fully qualified and insured, I’ve been shooting Weddings for over 8 years so you can relax knowing that I will be right beside you to capture all the best moments on your special day.
You do not only get a wedding photographer but think of me as your extra bridesmaid. With over 200 weddings under my belt, Im on hand to help out with any issues that might happen on the day. From fixing flowers and hair to cleaning stains of dresses and keeping family members calm! I sit down with all my brides and grooms beforehand to go through the day and ensure everything will run smoothly. I can offer advice on when is the best times to do things and help create a back up plan incase the weather isn’t playing ball. My ultimate goal is that you will have a stress free and fun day. This will be the greatest day of your lives!
I ask all my brides or grooms to leave a little review on the facebook page so please click here and have a read at my most recent weddings to get an idea of how I work.
I have been lucky enough to travel over to South Carolina, USA to photograph a beautiful wedding on a dock and I get to go to Iceland once or twice a year for some stunning elopements. Here is my most recent adventure with Lindsay & Curt.
When Im not working travelling is my main hobby. My partner Ross and I take time out to go on weekends away to Europe and even just days out across Scotland with our two Mini Dachshunds, Max and Lola. I also use this time to discover lots of beautiful locations for shoots and weddings. We also enjoy food (who doesn’t?!) and try to get to food festivals and I love just cooking and experimenting with my own meals at home.
Anyway, enough about me? what about you? I’d love to hear about how you guys met, what happened with the proposal and where your planning on getting married? Get in touch! I’d love a chat over a good cup of tea. My studio is in Falkirk so feel free to arrange to come and see me and my two little dachshunds.
I look forward to meeting you!
