Glasgow Weddings

Even though I am based in Falkirk, Im constantly in Glasgow for weddings. Only a 30 mins drive makes Glasgow easy access for me. I love a city centre wedding, especially Glasgow, which has so much character, hidden lanes, cemeteries, carpark and rooftop views. A few of my favourite venues are Oran Mor, Cottiers, Hotel du vin, House for an Art Lover and The Bothy.

Ashton Lane.

Oran Mor, West End Glasgow

A converted church at the top of Byres Rd. Oran Mor has the perfect location for a city centre weddings. It is a massive space situated at the top of Byres Rd. Beautifully decorated with stained glass windows and pops of colour it adds character to the building. My favourite spaces are the balcony (perfect for group photos) and the spiral staircase.

Another advantage is that you are right across the road from Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens, another great space for photos.

The Bothy, West End

The Bothy is a gorgeous restaurant with traditional Scottish food. They cater for smaller weddings (perfect for Covid times) and have a private room upstairs. Get married in front of the old fireplace before heading out to their beer garden for photos or maybe adventure across to Ashton Lane for the best photo op in Glasgow.

WEST Brewery, Glasgow Green

Another alternative space is the West Brewery on Glasgow Green. Get married in a space where the famous Glasgow Beer is made. You can even go on a Brewery tour with your guests. This space has a brick wall, warehouse feel to it and I love its industrial finish.

Outside the brewery is the famous Glasgow Green itself. Perfect for photos or for guests to enjoy the sun.

Hotel du Vin, Glasgow

Gorgeous suites, fine dining, this hotel screams elegance and would be perfect for any smaller, intimate weddings. The hotel is boutique like with a grand staircase and several grand rooms you can choose to be married in. The courtyard is perfect for the summer and I love the small lanes behind the hotel, awesome for photos.

Pops of colour and ‘real’ Glasgow lanes out the back are a perfect alternative for photos.

Not forgetting the courtyard at night.

Cottiers, Glasgow

Another converted church in Glasgow, this one has more of an unfinished, rustic feel to it. I love the fairy lights and the stained glass window above the alter.

Cottiers is also next to one of Glasgow’s most famous streets, Gardener St. One of the highest streets in Glasgow and gives a great view of the city and Glasgow’s famous tenements.

Blythswood Square, Glasgow City Centre

Blythswood Square, probably the most luxurious hotels in Glasgow is a stunning location for any wedding. The interior is gorgeous, they have access the private gardens across the street and you can add in use of the private cinema or the penthouse.

House for an Art Lover, Bellahouston Park

Built and styled round a Charles Rennie Macintosh design, House for an Art Lover is bright and spacious with many rooms to choose from to hold your wedding. The grand piano room is one of my favourites with its tall windows, cream decor and of course the grand piano.

You can also choose to get married in a different location and just have your reception at House for an Art Lover.

St. Andrews Cathedral, Glasgow

St. Andrews Cathedral, Glasgow

Outside you have the delights of Bellahouston Park for photos. Pieces of Art are dotted around the house. There is also the walled garden and just the public walkways are beautiful.

At night time all guests meet downstairs for dancing on the retro checked dance floor. You can also pop outside for sparklers and fairy light shots.
