A Wedding at Dunglass Estate

DUNGLASS ESTATE // AUG 2023

Dunglass Estate is a beautiful place in East Lothian for couples to get married. It has a lot of history and natural beauty, which makes it a romantic and elegant venue. You can have your ceremony in the Gothic church. The gardens are well-kept and there are breathtaking views, which makes it a great place for photographers. This is part of the reason Drew & Helena chose this venue. Drew is also a photographer (no pressure) and Helena works in TV/film so both knew what kind of day they wanted to create. Drew’s family also come from Scotland so he wanted to have a traditional Scottish shindig for all their friends down south. I joined Helena as so was getting ready in the lovely seaview cottage.

Drew was in another cottage getting ready with his family. I had a second shooter for this day, the lovely Kirsty McElroy Photography who captured all the decor and the boys!

Drew & Helena exchanged letters just before they were due to get married. It is always a gorgeous moment to capture.

Helena just looked simply elegant as she took a moment to sit with her single rose bought for her by Drew. Drew was at the church looking nervous as he waited for his bride to arrive. Helena was walked down the aisle by her Dad.

They had a beautiful ceremony where they read out personal vows to each other. After they were married all the guests joined in and sang ‘It must be love’ by Madness. What a fun way to end your ceremony!

We lined the guests up outside for an epic confetti photo and then group photos in front of the church. I loved this Vanity Fair style setup we did with the whole bridal party.

Guests heade back down to the couryard and we took advantage of the empty church for couple photos.

I love the olive decor and candles used to style the banqueting tables.

Guests gathered for speeches and dinner. We heard from both the bride and groom plus the Maid of Honour and Best Man. All great speeches!

After dinner we took advantage of the long day for a few more photos of the bridal party and then I look Helena & Drew down to the lake.

After the first dance, Helen got changed into a cute kilt outfit and they all danced to the ceilidh. Most of them doing it for the first time. It was so much fun to photograph and everyone seems to enjoy it. Thank you Drew and Helena for having me at your Dunglass Estate Wedding.
