Edinburgh Castle Wedding

Date: 12th January 2019 // Venue : Edinburgh Castle

Whats it like to get married in the most Iconic Castle in Scotland?! Well you can have a read at Louise and Ewan’s gorgeous winter Edinburgh Castle Wedding. As expected in January it was a blustery day with the wind blowing like crazy but all adds to the atmosphere. We started with Louise getting ready at the Radisson on the Royal Mile.

Louise was joined by her Mum and all her bridesmaids for a relaxing morning of getting hair and make up done.

I absolutely loved the details on Louise’s dress from Georgina Pimm Bridal. The back is exquisite.

The girls (and boy) had one last drink before they all made their way up to the castle.

Ewan was already at the Castle greeting guests. He looked very handsome in his chosen tartan.

After a little car trouble Louise arrived in a traditional black cab with her proud Dad.

I loved the transformation of the Castle with the decor and flowers by Rose Parks. They had a traditional registrar ceremony.

They were marched up the aisle by the piper and into the great hall for group photos.

Afterwards the couple bravely ventured outside into the wind for some stunning shots around the castle. Thank you to wedding co-ordinator Lynn who helped out with the dress.

Definitely the wind creates a bit of atmosphere on the day…and well it wouldn’t be Scotland without some storm element!

Luckily on such a cold day we didn’t have too many tourists about.

Stunning cupcakes from Cuckoos Bakery.

Tradition was broken during the speeches as the bride and bridesmaids all stood up to give a speech. Big up the girls, it was lovely to hear about Louise and all her friendships.

After dinner we ventured outside down to the gates for some photos. We loved the cobbled streets in the castle great for photos.

Finally we headed back into the great hall for dancing. Louise and Ewan had a Ceilidh to entertain the evening guests and the dance floor was packed all night!

Congratulations to the happy couple it was a pleasure to photograph your day!
