The Cow Shed Wedding

Date: 17th November 2018 // Venue: The Cow Shed, Crail

There is nothing better in life than being asked to photograph a friends wedding. Especially someone so kind and beautiful as Kirsty. We went to high school together and by the time we were in sixth year we were lounging in the common room thinking of ways to avoid classes but still get good marks in our exams. Fast forward a few years later (yes…a few) and here she is marrying the man of her dreams, Allan! These two are so perfect for each other and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of their day!

The girls all got ready in a cottage on the site of the Cow Shed making it easier by keeping everything local. Tracy McCusker was on hand to do hair and Make Up by Melissa from Make Up at home.

Kirsty is very close to both her parents so it was all very emotional in the morning when she was getting ready. As her Dad walked in for a first look both of the women in his life had to stop him before he cried. He was so proud!

Allan and the boys looking handsome as they arrived at the Cow Shed.

The girls arrived at the venue looking stunning in their sequin dresses. Kirsty and her Dad walked down the aisle towards Allan who looked so happy to see his future wife. The had a humanist ceremony performed by Fiona Bennie, who done a great job in telling the story of how Kirsty & Allan met. The barn was filled with fairy lights and after they were announced as husband and wife, Kirsty threw her bouquet up!

We headed straight outside for a group photo with everyone (no photographers were hurt during this process…) and straight onto our group photos. It was absolutely freezing so well done to everyone who joined us outside!

We took a walk around the farm, keeping things natural and generally having a laugh whilst the photos were being taken. Allan was keeping warm with whiskey so Kirsty had to borrow some. I loved this beautiful bouquet of flowers made by Amanda at Floral Design Boutique…isn’t it gorgeous!

We raced to the other side of the farm when we saw the sunset! it was to die for!

Keeping in theme with the rustic venue, Kirsty and Allan chose their decor well. Involving all the bands from the festival where they first met, rubber ducks and their pet cat on the cake topper.

So many great speeches! Kirsty’s Dad had a song written for her and performed on the pipes…I may have cried a little at this bit.

We headed back outside in the evening to take advantage of those beautiful lights! Allan and Kirsty were a bit more relaxed and loving their day!

We headed back inside for cake cutting and the first dance (Everlong…by the Foo Fighters…my absolute favourite!) Bahookie the band kicked off the ceilidh by mixing in Prodigy and Metallica, it was so much fun! These guys knew how to party and I bet it went on for a long time.

Finally a last massive Congratulations to Allan and Kirsty and thank you for having me as their photographer. It was a stunning Cow Shed Crail Wedding!
